If you do not know how to join a meeting, please go through the article How do I join a meeting from my computer with the Arthur 2D Desktop viewer? first.
1. How do I navigate?
When in the VR meeting, you can rotate with your mouse or use Q to rotate left and E to rotate right. Furthermore, use the following keys on your keyboard to move around.
W: Forward
A: Left
S: Backward
D: Right
R: Upward
F: Downward
Press H on your keyboard to open and minimize the HELP window which also contains the explanation of controls. You can also click on the Help (H) icon at the bottom left corner of the screen to open it.
There are two different modes in Arthur 2D Desktop Viewer:
- Direct mode: This is the default mode in which you start the meeting in the 2D viewer. In this mode, simply moving your mouse will change your view and the mouse cursor will not show.
You can click your right mouse button twice or press back space twice to exit the direct mode. Once exited, your usual mouse cursor will start showing and you would be able to interact with your system interface also. While in a non-direct mode, you would be able to change your view by holding the left mouse button and then changing directions.
- Camera mode: Enabling the camera mode removes the blue pointer at the center of your screen and the Help (H) icon automatically. It also implements your desired camera settings hence making this mode optimal for taking screenshots and recordings of your VR meetings. Pressing Shift + V will show the camera settings and the toggle to turn on the camera mode.
2. How do I adjust the Camera Settings?
- Use mouse cursor to adjust Movement Speed and Friction. Maximum friction means your movement will stop as soon as you leave a movement button (W,A,S,D,R,F). Adjusting friction can be helpful when recording a video in which you do not want to abruptly stop your recording flow.
- Use Position and Rotation axes to record/take pictures from a particular location and angle in a room. Helpful in taking before/after images, and having different camera people in set particular locations within a room. You can also lock your rotation by check marking the "Lock" boxes beneath rotation axes.
- Enabling Lock Current Movement Track will cause you to only move forwards or backwards in the direction when this option was enabled.
- Use Sensitivity (mouse responsiveness) and Smoothing (mouse acceleration) to set your personal optimal mouse movement settings in the viewer.
- Unchecking the options in Items Visibility hides different items such as name labels, controller ray casts, TV UI (participants list and meeting duration board), Audio Zones, Crop-Copy button (present at the bottom left corner of each image, pdf etc.), Status Indicator (your personal mute or speakerphone status in the viewer) and Notifications (received when admin panel action is taken). This allows for a seamless recordable event in VR from the viewer.
- With camera mode enabled, you can also decide how you would like to view other people joining from the 2D viewer. This option allows you to differentiate/hide video recorders etc. who might find themselves at awkward positions within the room while capturing the best moments of your virtual meetings!
